PHI CD 141: Fernando Germani Westminster Cathedral Recorded HMV 1947 & 1949
This CD is a tribute to the great Italian organist Fernando Germani, who is considered by many as one of the great
organists of the 20th century. Germani's international career spanned six decades and these recordings capture him at the very height of his powers. All performances appear for the first time on CD. The CD booklet features an essay about Germani by the well known British concert organist, Nicolas Kynaston, who was a pupil of Germani.
Released in 1996 the year of Germani's 90th birthday. Germani died in Rome on 10 June 1998, aged 92 years.
